A California suspected drunk driver struck and killed a pedestrian in a bloody hit-and-run this past Monday, before driving for a mile with the male victim’s body lodged in the front seat. She then parked her car and walked away, before being arrested.

The collision had happened at around 6:20 a.m. when witnesses say they saw a man walking on the sidewalk get hit by a car.

29-year-old Esteysi Sanchez Izazaga, who goes by Stacy Sanchez, drove her car onto the sidewalk and struck the man.

She’s suspected of driving under the influence, and because of how fast her vehicle was alleged to have been traveling, the victim flew through the windshield, head down, coming to a rest on the front passenger seat.

His leg detached from his body and continued through the back windshield and landed on the trunk of the car.

She continued driving for about a mile, before parking her car in a neighborhood and simply walking away.

Witnesses immediately called police, who quickly found Ms. Izazaga just a few blocks away.

She was arrested and charged with felony DUI, felony hit-and-run, and vehicular manslaughter. She was then booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

The victim has yet to be identified because authorities are still trying to contact the family.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about it is asked to call the Oceanside Police Department at (760) 435-4911.
