A California woman has been arrested after getting three speeding tickets in the span of just an hour while in Virginia.

Kai Kitchen, from Los Angeles, was taken into custody after one trooper stopped her twice, and another a single time, for a total of three.

It occurred last Sunday when Ms. Kitchen was spotted driving 93 mph  in a 70 mph zone at roughly 7 a.m. She was given a ticket for reckless driving and was sent on her way.

But just over half an hour later, she was spotted again by the same trooper, and given another ticket. This time, she’d been going 97 mph.

At 8 a.m., another trooper pulled over for doing 94 mph in a 70 mph zone. This time, however, she was arrested.

Many of Ms. Kitchen’s supporters are claiming she was pulled over so many times because of the fact that she’s an African-American. Even her own lawyer says that’s absurd.

“This doesn’t have anything to do with the color of anyone’s skin,” Jimmy Turk told a local news station. She was driving in excess of the speed limit on three different occasions in one hour.”

She spent four days in jail, then was released and given a $1,000 fine.
