Jerry Coop of Louisville Kentucky has been charged with child molestation after drugging and sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl who was at a sleepover with his daughter in March. His Daughter invited two friends to the house, whose ages were 10 and 11, for a sleepover. Coop gave the two girls pills and told them it would help them to sleep. The 10-year-old threw them away but the 11-year-old took them. During the sleepover, he slept on the floor next to the girls.

The 11-year-old recounts that during the night, she woke up and found Coop with his hand down her pants touching her. The 10-year-old said she woke up and saw him on top of the victim.

After the incident, reports were made to the police and he was taken into custody to do three lie detector tests. He failed all of them.

Steve Owen, Floyd County Chief Prosecuting Attorney, reports that an investigation is still being conducted. Coop could face 20 to 40 years in prison if he’s found guilty, and because of the age of the victim, he would be required to serve at least 75% of the time that he is sentenced to.
