A well-known-in-Florida personal injury lawyer was arrested Sunday morning on a charge of driving under the influence.

David J. Maloney was spotted by an Escambia County Florida Sheriff’s deputy in a Lamborghini speeding in a 35-mph zone.

After pulling the driver over and speaking with him, the deputy suspected he was under the influence of alcohol and took him into custody.

He was booked into the Escambia County Jail at 3:35 in the morning and released six hours later on a $500 bond.

He’s known for his unqiue, aggressive, and often humorous TV commercials for his law firm. Ironically, in those commercials, he repeatedly says he’ll never “represent someone in a drunk driving context.”
