A Florida man has been given multiple charges after being accused of showing a 10-year-old boy that was in his care how to set off acid bombs.

A deputy working an off-duty detail in a subdivision heard a loud explosion Monday. When he went to a nearby park to investigate, he saw 30-year-old Joshua Stephen Lapin-Bertone setting off acid bombs.

According to the arrest report, Mr. Lapin-Bertone “had the juvenile” throwing the bombs.

Authorities found more chemicals used to make acid bombs in his car.

He was released on bond and has been charged with four counts of making/placing/discharging a destructive device, and four counts of child neglect.

The child was returned to his mother.
