A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly attacking a flamingo at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay.
On Tuesday, at about 6:45 p.m., 45-year-old Joseph Carrao was in the park’s Jambo Junction animal viewing area with his family, when he reached into an enclosure and picked up a flamingo; a Chilean flamingo dubbed Pinky.
Then, to the utter shock of witnesses, he slammed it to the ground “in a rage.â€
According to a statement from the park, “Pinky was immediately transported to the park’s Animal Care Center were veterinarians made the decision to humanely euthanize her based on the severity of her injuries.â€
Mr. Carrao was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty.
