Some free and friendly advice: If you’re going through a divorce that isn’t exactly going amicably, it’s probably a good idea to be the picture off innocence until it’s all over. Former Utah Jazz dancer, Amber Telford, did quite the opposite.
Yes, the 33-year-old’s soon-to-be-ex-husband became suspicious sometime during the process and hired a private investigator. On November 28, 2014, his suspicions proved blaringly warranted when the aforementioned P.I., camera-in-hand, walked in on the dance teacher and a 17-year-old boy, one of her dance studio’s students – “their clothes strewn about the floor.”
It turns out the affair had been going on for at least five months. The boy told authorities he’d had sex with Ms. Telford seven times; two times in a car, at least once at her parent’s house, but usually at her own home. She had done the classic definition of grooming him as well, buying him gifts and even paying for him to enter a dance competition held at Disneyland.

In a plea deal on Tuesday, she admitted to a single felony count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor in Salt Lake County court. She had originally been charged with seven counts of the same.

She’s facing up to five years in prison when she’s sentenced in August.
