A Georgia man was arrested after flying into a rage on his wife, all because she made his grilled cheese sandwich “too cheesyâ€.
55-year-old James De Paola started “shouting and cursing†at his wife during an argument this past Wednesday in their home.
He became upset with his spouse, 51-year-old Michelle De Paola, for “using three slices of cheese in a grilled cheese sandwich.â€
He claims he’d told her that she “could make a grilled cheese sandwich with two pieces of cheese instead of three.â€
His wife told investigators that he was yelling and spit in her face, adding that he has a history of violent/abusive behavior,†which resulted in a prior arrest and a restraining order being issued against him.
During the incident, the victim told their nine-year-old daughter to call 911, but the enraged suspect pulled the phone cord from the wall and slammed the phone on the ground.
Their 12-year-old daughter then grabbed her mom’s cell phone to call the cops.
He was subsequently arrested on charges of obstruction of a 911 call, criminal trespassing and damage to property; both of which are misdemeanors.
He was jailed and spent several days in the county jail before his release on August 1st on a $2000 bond.
