An Illinois gymnastics coach has left her friends and neighbors stunned as allegations surfaced that she sexually abused two special needs girls who were under her care.

The incidents allegedly occurred between April 30th and May 3rd at the hotel they were staying in when they traveled to Kennesaw, Georgia on a gymnastics trip last year.

48-year-old Patricia Hermann has worked with special needs children for over 20 years. But when the girls returned from the aforementioned trip, they both, independent of one another, told their parents that they’d been sexually assaulted.

One of the victim’s age was 13 at the time of the incident. The other girl’s age is unclear at this time.

Patricia has been charged with three counts of sexual battery against a minor, and one count of aggravated sexual battery.

She was apprehended by Cook County authorities and is expected to be extradited to Georgia as part of the investigation.
