Just a few days after arriving in the United States from Puerto Rico, 25-year-old Kevin Hernandez Orth experienced something not all of us have – being arrested.
He called a talent agency posing as a filmmaker for a company he called Candy Land Films, and asked for girls ages 10 to 14 for swimsuit modeling videos.
The owner of the agency could find nothing whatsoever about any company called Candy Land Films and became suspicious. She then contacted the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
An undercover investigator then posed as the father of a 14-year-old girl and contacted Mr. Orth.
Authorities say that he then offered the father $100 to take videos of his daughter in swimsuits, $200 to take videos of her nude, and $400 to take videos of him having sex with her.
He was promptly arrested at a hotel in Orlando, Florida and charged with attempted lewd and lascivious battery, solicitation of a parent to engage in sexual conduct with a minor, traveling to meet a minor to engage in sexual conduct, attempted manufacture of child pornography, and attempted production of child pornography.
He was then held on $180,000 bail in the Orange County Jail.
The judge ordered him to have no contact with anyone under 18 years old, and he was banned from using the Internet.
