A married teaching assistant stands accused of performing a sex act on a teenage student during a school trip.
36-year-old Jill Meldrum-Jones is alleged to have performed a sex act on the boy during that trip, and over a three-month period.
She’s also alleged to have sexually assaulted a second teen boy from the same school.
Mrs. Meldrum-Jones, at a 10-minute appearance at Warwickshire Justice Centre in Leamington Spa yesterday, only spoke to confirm that she didn’t want to enter a plea.
She’s been charged with five counts of touching a teenage boy, two counts of causing or inciting the boy to engage in sexual activity, and grooming a boy under the age of 16 by text or messaging with the intention of meeting to engage in sexual activity. She’s been released on bail and her trial starts next month.
As a condition of her bail, she’s not allowed to approach colleagues at the school and isn’t allowed unsupervised access with children under 16, unless approved by social workers.
