A Michigan man in prison for making sexually explicit videos of children all over Michigan pleaded guilty Monday to sexually assaulting an 18-month-old girl at a motel in Byron Township. Authorities say he recorded it to show others.

29-year-old Eric Devin Masters pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct during a short appearance in Kent County Circuit Court.

Investigators learned of the assaults while investigating him for sexually exploiting children across the state. He’s serving a 50-year sentence from that investigation already, and his older brother is in prison for assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

He admitted to raping the girl three times over an eight-day period in 2012 at a motel. Investigators were notified about the crimes by an FBI agent investigating Masters for sexually exploiting children in several other Michigan counties between 2011 and 2013.

Videos taken at the motel show him engaging in multiple sex acts with the girl, who was, several times, tied to a bed. In one of the videos, he is even seen urinating on the child.

Kent County Circuit Court Judge Mark Trusock accepted guilty pleas on five felony charges. All Masters did and said in court was sheepishly answer “yes sir” when the judge asked if the facts of each assault was true, looking down the entire time.

He’ll be sentenced to a 50 year minimum term and that will be concurrent to whatever time he’s already doing in the federal system, as part of a plea agreement.

On March 17th when he’s due back in court for final sentencing, he’ll find out what the maximum shall be. First-degree criminal sexual conduct is punishable by up to life in prison.
