A married female teacher has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for molesting a 16-year-old female student.

Leslie DeWitt will have to serve every single day of the sentence with no possibility of parole. She must also register as a sex offender.

She was found guilty of molesting the girl during the 2009-2010 school year.

The married mother was convicted on two counts of molesting a child, but acquitted on two charges of sexual battery.

She’d been accused of having a sexual relationship with the girl between December 1, 2009 and July 30, 2010.

The unnamed student says Mrs. DeWitt abused her with a sex toy. She reported the crime three years later.

The student’s mother alerted police after her daughter, who’s now in college, suffered from depression and anxiety after the abuse.

DeWitt told the court that she and the teen were like sisters.

She also said the girl had access to a hidden house key and had spent the night in her home.
