A 21-year-old New Jersey man allegedly murdered his fiancée’s 2-year-old son, then tied the knot with the boy’s mother, Tiffany, just six short days later.

Jagger Jost was arrested Monday, about eight months after he’s believed to have killed 2-year-old Vernon Gaylord Sylver Jr. with a punch to the stomach.

Before young Vernon was even been buried, Jagger and the Tiffany pushed the marriage date up to help with the grieving process.

Tiffany, to this very day, believes her beloved Jagger is innocent and believes his story that the little boy fell off of bricks, not punched at all.

“I would have killed him myself,” Tiffany told a newspaper about what she’d do if she felt Jagger had any involvement in her son’s death.

U.S. Marshals tracked Mr. Jost down Monday in Atlantic City, N.J., where he was staying with an acquaintance. He was arrested and charged with murder and child abuse.

Vernon’s cause of death was deemed to be blunt force trauma to the abdomen.

He sustained his eventually-fatal injury on May 13, 2015. Two days later, he started vomiting and died on May 16th.

They married on May 22nd, nine days before Vernon’s funeral.

Tiffany still says Jagger loved Vernon like he was his own son.

“I feel like my heart is on fire, because I’m not going to let my husband rot in jail,” she told reporters.

He’s being held at the Atlantic County Jail, expected to be extradited to North Carolina, the location where the boy died.
