A music teacher in New Jersey stands accused of having sex with and engaging in sex acts with a 17-year-old female student while on school grounds.

33-year-old Jaime Rodriguez, who worked at Newark Arts High School, was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault.

The sexual activity is alleged to have taken place between between January 1st and April 27th during the school day.

The shamed teacher, who’s taught at the school for nearly almost four years, was ordered held in lieu of $200,000 bail.

“The employee in question has been placed on immediate leave and the district is fully cooperating with law enforcement officials; however, we cannot comment further on the pending criminal investigation,” Newark Public Schools spokeswoman Dreena Whitfield said in a statement.
