A New York man who shot a friend of his for eating his sandwich has been handed down a sentence of 22 years in prison.
34-year-old Marcus Gottsche was sentenced Wednesday in connection with the death of 28-year-old Jasmine Armour.
Mr. Gottsche and Ms. Armour had spent a night drinking back in February of 2011 before returning to his (Gottsche’s) home in Buffalo. After she started eating his sandwich, a fight started.
Gottsche retrieved his rifle and shot her in the back as she tried to leave the home.
He was convicted of murder back in December of 2011, but the verdict was reversed in 2015 when a court ruled he’d been denied effective legal representation.
He pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in June.
