A Pennsylvania English teacher has been charged with having sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student for months.
39-year-old Rose Marie Limuli was arrested Monday and charged with 12 third-degree felony counts of institutional sexual assault, which makes relations between a teacher and a student, even if the student is 18 or older, illegal.
Authorities say the events happened from December until March 31st, when the Upper Dublin Police Department was made aware of the allegations. A joint investigation by Upper Dublin detectives and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office concluded that the relationship became sexual once the young man turned 18.
She’d taught at the school for over two years. She’s been suspended pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.
The relationship started with flirtatious text images and phone calls, and progressed to a physical one after he turned 18. The sexual encounters are said to have occurred outside of school on “at least 12 occasions,” according to the criminal complaint.
Cops say she showered him with gifts, gave him over $1,000 cash and access to her credit card, and told him she would get in trouble if anyone found out.
Her bail was set at $50,000 unsecured with conditions to include her having no contact with the victim or other students.
