A Pennsylvania woman is sitting in prison after a six-year-old girl went to school with burned hands.
She told her teacher that her stepmother had placed them on a hot stove to punish her and had said she’d kill her if she told anyone.
Authorities in Butler County arrested 34-year-old Tonya Schmidt and charged her with felony aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Schmidt shared a home with four stepchildren and their biological father.
The victim has been placed in a foster home, but the other three remain in their biological father’s home.
