Police Department Releases Body Cam Footage of an Officer Involved in a Deadly Shooting

Tahlequah Police Chief Nate King called a news conference to release body cam footage of an officer involved in a fatal shooting on Saturday, June 27, 2015, and update to the public on the investigation into the death of the victim – 35-year-old Joshua Crittenden.

The officer involved in the shooting was Randy Tanner, a 15-year veteran of the force. He responded to a fight with weapons in progress in the 500 block of South Mission. Crittenden and another man were arguing. When he saw the police, he ran to a nearby house. He was shot when he came out of the house and pointed a handgun at Officer Tanner. The other man, identified as Benjamin P. Brown that was also involved in the dispute, was taken into custody.
