A Daytona Beach police officer has been placed behind bars after allegations surface of him groping a woman who was in his custody.
According to police, the woman claimed that rookie police officer Larry Leon Jones, 22, pulled his cruiser over twice. The first time was to adjust the cuffs. The second time was to cop a feel of her breasts, and then see if she was hiding any contraband in her underwear.
Following an internal investigation, Jones was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police found inconsistencies in Jones' report, which claimed he'd only made one stop. But the GPS tracking on his cruiser showed otherwise.
Jones was taken to Volusia County Jail on Tuesday afternoon, but bonded out later that day.
