JCSO Press Release: 10/25/2013
Jones County’s Least Favorite; Joe Rhem Jr. Back In Custody
Four days after his initial and highly publicized arrest on October 21st, Jones County Narcotics investigators secured additional felony drug warrants for Joe Francis Rhem Jr.
Rhem was taken into custody in the Jones County Courthouse parking lot, shortly after he finished his first appearance for his previous drug charges, from earlier in the week.
Rhem, 36 of 134 Jerkins Rd., Trenton, was taken before the Magistrate on duty and charged with two (2) counts of Sell & Deliver Cocaine(F), two (2) counts of Conspire to Sell & Deliver Cocaine(F) and two (2) counts of Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell & Deliver Cocaine(F). Rhem was issued an $80,000 Secured Bond and was placed into the custody of the Jones County Detention Center, where he made bond almost immediately thereafter.
As stated in the previous news release earlier in the week, Rhem will most likely be facing habitual felony charges in the not too distant future and is still believed to be the main supplier of ‘Crack’ Cocaine in Jones County, as well as a major contributor to the drug trade in some of the surrounding counties.
This investigation is ongoing and Rhem remains on the ‘ZERO TOLERANCE’ watch list and WILL BE pursued for any future violations.
“As I said from day one, if you are dealing drugs in this county… we are coming for you. We will be relentless in our pursuit of those who sell illegal narcotics in Jones County.“
