A Texas mother and her boyfriend are accused of waterboarding the woman’s 13-year-old son as a punishment for touching the family dog inappropriately…and it gets even more disturbing
The victim told Kaufman County Children’s Advocacy Center that he told his mother’s boyfriend, 45-year-old Casey Shackleford, that he’d inappropriately touched the family dog. The boy explained that he just wanted to be honest about what he’d done.
According to the young boy, Shackleford then grabbed him by the hair, pinned him down, and told the boy’s mother, Christi Howell, to pour cold water over the boy’s face as he held a towel over it.
Luckily, he was able to move his head to the side to avoid drowning.
But after waterboarding him, Mr. Shackleford grabbed him, put him on the couch, and ordered him to explain what he did. The boy told investigators that at one point Shackleford told Ms. Howell to get a “pig rope†to tie to the boy’s genitals.
She did as she was told and “pulled on the rope as if she was trying to pull him around and off the couch.â€
Deputies say Howell admitted to the waterboarding and tying the rope around the boy, but said it was all Shackleford’s idea.
Howell was charged with injury to a child, a second-degree felony, and is being held under a $250,000 bond.
Shackleford turned himself in on Wednesday and is facing the same charge.
