A Virginia man showed almost no emotion this past Wednesday when he was found guilty of crimes against nature related to the 2014 sexual assault of a then 4-year-old Labrador retriever named Addie.

He muttered quietly back and forth with his lawyer, covering his mouth as the jury left to deliberate his sentence.

48-year-old James Michael Foran was given five years in prison, the maximum sentence allowed for what he’d done; sexually assaulted the dog owned by the woman he did yard work for.

A vaginal swab from the dog and a cheek swab from Foran found a DNA match.

No details of the actual act have been released.

Mr. Foran has been held without bond in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon since 2014.
