A former English teacher and field hockey coach at Parsippany Hills High School has been accused of sexual assault and official misconduct, offenses occurring between January and June of 2013.

The case came to light when a then-16-year-old male told his friend that he had sexual relations with his teacher in her classroom.

The teacher in question, Jeanne Leahey, 33, touched the student sexually and “did other physical things” in her classroom, according to the witness. She also allegedly took her home to her house after a school volleyball game.

She followed up these instances with sexually explicit text messages.

Leahey has pleaded not guilty, and plans to file a motion to dismiss the charges
