In what many are dubbing the happiest mugshot in America, Sarah Elizabeth Furay, a 19-year-old college student, is facing a staggering 215 years in prison and upwards of $30,000 in fines. One would wonder if she knew this at the time her photo was being taken.
So what did she do? She was found with a staggering amount of drugs and evidence of more drug-related trouble on Friday.
Her home was raided by College Station police and they found 126 grams of high-grade marijuana, 31.5 grams of packaged cocaine, 29 ecstasy pills, 60 separate doses of a synthetic LSD called 25C NBOME, packaging materials, two digital scales, and a handwritten note detailing the prices of all of it.
They also found several text messages which gave weight to their belief that she was a veritable drug kingpin.
As you might guess, she was arrested immediately.
The marijuana alone gives her a chance of up to two years in jail and $10,000 in fines, as it’s a state felony. But then add in two first-degree felony charges, a second-degree felony charge for manufacturing, and delivering controlled substances, and you come up with the grand total of beyond-her-lifetime behind bars and a ton of money to be paid.
She was placed on a $39,000 bond and has since been released.
