Khalilah Busby, a mother of seven children from Dallas, is now grieving the loss of her 2-year-old daughter Nariyah Raufu after she accidentally left her in a hot car. The baby was left strapped in her car seat in the back seat of her Honda Pilot on Friday afternoon after returning home from a nearby park.

Busby said she thought all of her kids were inside the house taking a nap. Nariyah’s father didn’t realize the mistake until he went outside later to work on the vehicle. He removed the child from the vehicle immediately and took her inside. He called 911 while the mother performed CPR for approximately 30 minutes. Nariyah was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Child Protective Services and Dallas Police are investigating the incident, but no charges have been filed.
