A former soldier and her boyfriend face felony charges of animal cruelty and conspiracy after a video surfaced that appeared to show the pair tying her dog to a tree and shooting him numerous times with a rifle while laughing.

Marinna Rollins, 23, was taken into custody Tuesday. Her boyfriend, Jerren Heng, 26, was already in custody, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Cam was a service dog given to Rollins because she suffered PTSD

According to a police report, Rollins and Heng took the gray-and-white male pit bull named Camboui to an unknown wooded area on April 16 or 17. When they got there, she tied the dog to a tree and then shot her pet in the head with a rifle.

She shot him five times, according to the report. Heng was heard on the video asking Rollins to let him shoot the dog, too.

The Facebook page Justice for Cam posted a screen shot purportedly from Marinna Rollins saying that Cam was going to a good home, with Heng saying ‘He’s gonna have such a great new life’

A Justice for Cam Facebook site sprang up almost immediately, and a screen grab purporting to be from Rollins’ Facebook page shows someone who appears to be Rollins saying ‘Great last day with the pooch! Sad he has to go, but he will be much happier where he is heading off to :)’
Heng then wrote: ‘He’s gonna have such a great new life.’
Rollins was being held on $10,000 bail and Heng on $5,000 bail, but after an outcry by animal lovers, their bails were raised to $25,000, according to the Justice for Cam Facebook page.

On our way to the hole, we saw the moose make several attempts at getting out of the water, but it could neither get up nor break the ice to get into shore. My partner, Sigrid Sjösteen, eagerly started to chop a pathway to shallower water, where it could reach the bottom and get out. We took turns chopping for about 30 minutes before the moose was out of danger.

A man in Pensacola, Florida has been arrested after a family member claims he sexually assaulted the family pet, a pit bull, “at least 100 times.”

23-year-old Bradley Jean Hubbard was arrested Monday at his home after the family member went to authorities and claimed that the dog, named “Baby Girl,” had been molested countless times by him while he lived with his father and his father’s girlfriend. He lived there for three years.

It’s unclear why this family member waited so long, but she said she’d seen him take the dog to his bedroom and watched through a hole in his door as he sexually assaulted the dog. She says it happened at least 100 times in the past several years, if not more.

She said she’d heard the dog whimper and “cry out in pain” during the sessions, and says he did it more and more frequently over time. She claims that the dog eventually stopped making noises during the assaults. When family members mentioned the dog’s symptoms, Hubbard would brush them off as her being in heat.

The unidentified family member finally reported the behavior to authorities on December 28th after he’d allegedly come into her bedroom, grabbed the dog, and took it to his bedroom. He’d then close and lock his door. When she heard the faint noises, she “could not take it anymore,” so ran outside and called the cops.

Mr. Hubbard’s father denied the allegations against his son, but the informant says that he’s “covered up” for him in the past.

The dog was taken to a vet for a rape kit, and it was noted that the dog’s genitalia showed signs consistent with abuse.

He’s been charged with engaging in sexual conduct with an animal and causing death, pain or suffering to an animal.

He’s now being held in the Escambia County Jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond, and is due in court on February 2nd.
