A Florida man got out of work like he wanted — but his plan landed him behind bars instead.
Brian Anderson called 911 to report an armed robbery, telling police that two suspects stole his money, necklace and cell phone, then sped off in a black Ford Crown Victoria, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities responded only to find out that Anderson had made the whole thing up because he didn’t want to go to work.
“On the bright side, Brian didn’t have to go to his 11:00 a.m. shift at the restaurant,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
Anderson was arrested and charged with misuse of 911 and knowingly giving false information to a law enforcement officer, according to online jail records.
