A 64-year-old Florida man is in critical condition in a Miami hospital after his 38-year-old son set him on fire during an argument Saturday.
It’s alleged that Tabias Rollins got into an extremely violent dispute with his father before dousing him in gasoline and lighting it.
During the tumultuous episode, the home also caught fire, injuring Tabias as well. He still fled the home and was being sought by police for a time before turning himself in Sunday. He’s since been treated for his injuries.
The unnamed victim is lucky to be alive, according to authorities, after suffering severe burns to most of his body.
Tabias was charged with attempted murder, arson, and car theft after he stole his mother’s Cadillac to flee.
The home has reportedly been deemed ‘a total loss’.
The Red Cross is providing assistance to the couple.
