On January 4th, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire. From the evidence, it appeared the fire started in a bathroom and damaged the master bedroom.

Jackquen Carlisle, who lives in the apartment, initially told investigators that she didn’t have a clue how the fire started. Later, she finally owned up to it and revealed to them that snakes and demons had started the fire.

More than two weeks later, she said she’d been burning “something” in the bedroom, but had no idea how any fire started in the bathroom.

One of Jackquen’s family members told authorities that she sometimes speaks to “people that aren’t there” and “has violent tantrums”.

She’s being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on a charge of first-degree arson. Judge Caroline Shepherd ordered she be held without bail while she undergoes a mental evaluation.

She’s next due in court this morning.
