A Louisiana mother is back out of jail after being arrested for beating her three sons when she caught them burglarizing a home.

30-year-old Schaquana Evita Spears told a local news station, “It’s been hell. I never could imagine trying to be a good mother would end me up in jail with a criminal record like I’m a predator out to hurt my kids who I live for. That’s my world. Everything revolves around them. Everything I do is for my kids.”

She admitted to police that she’d hit her three sons, ages 10, 12, and 13, after she caught them breaking into a house in Baton Rouge Friday.

Her oldest son told child services that his mom hit him several times with a cord. He had cuts to both of his arms, and marks across his leg, shoulder, back, and stomach, with some bleeding.

The 10- and 12-year-olds also had some cuts and scratches.

She was taken into custody and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on two counts of cruelty to juveniles.

She bonded out Tuesday night.
