A newlywed couple and four wedding guests were arrested after they broke into a former Munson school shortly after the wedding.
The marriage of Zachary Fuit, 26, of Roy, Utah, and Abigail Carlson, 21, of Pensacola, was held Sunday at Bear Lake in northern Santa Rosa County. They ended up in jail hours later, along with their wedding guests Zachary Barr, 21, of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Stephen Pepik, 24, of Pensacola, Colton Patterson, 20, of Burleson, Texas. and Victor Peres, 21, of Newark, New Jersey. All of them except Carlson are U.S. Marines, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to 11550 Munson Highway after receiving a complaint that several individuals pulled wood boards covering a broken window to access the school. The caretaker was inside the school when he heard a loud noise. he was able to write down the license plates of two vehicles outside the school. They later sped away.
A short time later, both vehicles were located and a traffic stop took place. One was pulled over by SRSO deputies and the other by a Milton Police 0fficer.
Deputies said they determined the six were involved in the burglary, and items founds in one of the vehicles placed them at the scene.
All six were charged with burglary and criminal mischief. Fuit was also charged with theft.
