An Ohio pastor was shot dead in front of his congregation…and the perpetrator was his own brother.

Witnesses say that 70-year-old Reverend William Schooler was shot and killed at the end of his sermon on Sunday at the St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton.

Police have arrested his brother, 68-year-old Daniel Gregory Schooler, and charged him with murder.

Joyce Napier, a niece of both the pastor and the gunman, said that her uncle Daniel suffers from “bipolar and is schizophrenic. He had a lot of things going on he was dealing with.”

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Over 20 parishioners fled from the church as Daniel Schooler kept firing shots at his brother.

The pastor’s wife, who was with him at the time of the shooting, wasn’t hurt.
