On Wednesday, August 26th, a brazen thief was caught on CCTV using dynamite to blast open an ATM in Ponta Grossa, Brazil. He attempted to pry open a drawer in the machine before inserting what appears to be a stick of dynamite and lighting it.
The man ran away as the machine exploded and then returned to the scene to collect whatever was left in the debris.
In June, five suspected gang members were arrested and 45 kg of dynamite, enough to blow open 120 ATMs, was discovered. The police believe that they are responsible for 11 cases of theft from ATMs.
