A Milwaukee, Wisconsin man has confessed to stabbing his girlfriend a staggering 26 times, killing her four-year-old daughter, then lighting their house on fire using coloring books for fuel – all because he “felt disrespected”.
31-year-old Patrick Fowler has been charged with two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the deaths of 28-year-old Jessica Ellenberger and her four-year-old daughter, Madyson Marshel.

He told authorities that he and Jessica had gotten into an argument and that he “felt as if he were being disrespected,” the criminal complaint reads.

When she told him to “back off,” he began to stab her. He told police he wasn’t sure of how many times, but that he “kept on and kept on”.

When he realized she was still alive, he got more knives and stabbed her some more before slitting her throat.

Young Madyson, a recent cancer survivor, screamed out “Mommy!” and he turned his sights on her, stabbing her to death as well.

When he knew both were dead, he says he contemplated suicide, but ultimately decided to torch the house instead.

He chose Madyson’s coloring books to start the fire.

An autopsy found 26 wounds on Jessica Ellenberger’s upper body, in addition to burns 40% percent of her body. Madyson had been stabbed twice and suffered burns to 100% of her body.

Patrick told police he “didn’t feel bad for any of the decisions that he made”.

He was arrested during a bus layover in Texarkana, Arkansas last week.

He was already on probation for threatening to kill his fiancée and her son after she broke off their engagement six months ago.
