Metro Police said a woman was charged after trying to bring more than 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine, tobacco and weed into prison in her vagina.
Rebecca Leann Proffitt, 29, is charged with bringing contraband into a penal institution.
A Metro Police affidavit said officers discovered a package concealed in Profftt’s genitals while being scanned into Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville.
Proffitt handed over the package, which was found to consist of 45.5 grams of a substance that field tested positive for meth, 20.8 grams of tobacco, 12 strips of Buprenorphine and 41 grams of a leafy substance “with a strong odor of marijuana.”
The suspect reportedly admitted to officers that she was smuggling the suspected drugs into prison for another inmate. She told officers that she was paid $300 to smuggle the package into prison.
Proffitt’s bond was set at $10,000.
